For many years it was one of the first glimpses of the United States for millions of immigrants and visitors after ocean voyages from around the world. Designed by French sculptor Frederic Bartholdi in 1886,the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to mark the Centennial of the American Declaration of Independence. New York is a very large city but again if you have an eye for this type of thing you do not have to look very hard to locate the web cams. Documenting much that happens within the city, they are literally everywhere. There are views from web cams of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, the impressive One World Trade Center and the city skyline of lower Manhattan, to web cam views of the George Washington Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River. There are streaming cams of New York City’s 5th Avenue and of their beautiful Central Park. Uptown, mid town, down town, you can see all of New York City via web cams.
In this day and age it is best to think twice before any illegal or illicit activity in public places because anyone with a mind to do so can easily track your actions. It is believed that moving into the future this technology may play a significant role in protecting the public. For now it is still being developed for practical use.
